Beyond the feed with Christabel

Her take on consciously finding harmony between rigor and joy - the secret behind Christabel’s tenacity and positive outlook towards life.

“Planning for work, rest and time with my loved ones is essential in helping me keep a good balance.”

Hi Christabel, can you tell us a little more about yourself?

Hello! My name is Christabel, more commonly known as Bel or @bellywellyjelly. I am a beauty & lifestyle content creator and entrepreneur based in Singapore.

What have you been busy with recently?

We have just launched our annual National Day collection at kāi!

We understand you have founded KĀI, what inspired you to start KĀI?

I just wanted to create items that could bring a sense of comfort and joy to anyone who experiences kāi.

What are some of the upcoming plans for KĀI this year?

We are working towards the end of the year - which is the most exciting season for kāi every year! You can expect our personal planners and an exciting novelty collection coming up.

We see that you are a Face Yoga Method Certified Instructor, could you tell us a little more about Face Yoga and what got you started?

I was inspired by my mom as she practises face yoga on a daily basis. As a beauty content creator, I thought that learning about this would be really interesting and would be complementary to what I do. I’m really excited as I am planning to start teaching soon.

We see that you wear many hats - being an entrepreneur, a content creator, a Face Yoga instructor, how do you balance and manage your work?

Time management is very important. Planning for work, rest and time with my loved ones is essential in helping me keep a good balance.

What is your day-to-day routine like?

It is different everyday. I try to exercise 3 times a week even if that means waking up early for class. I keep weekends for my loved ones and make it a point to spend time by the beach at least 1-2 times a month.

Share with us your favourite quote that keeps you going.

Today is the youngest you’ll ever be.

How would you describe your style?

Comfortable and versatile!

Are you more of a dress or pants person?

Both— but definitely not a skirt person.

There are always ups and downs in life, how do you keep yourself positive while spreading positivity to others?

I do that by acknowledging that fear and failure are a big part of the journey.

An advice you would give to your younger self.

To have more faith in yourself.
